If I had to go to India, I wouldn't go to the bathroom the entire trip. Did you know India is the only country that still has the Plague? I mean the Plague! Please!

What is up with you lately? You're twittering more, now have like 50 blogs, and I'm sure you setup your own 'military e-commerce site' somewhere you're not telling us about. ;)

Twitter is addicting eh but fun. I feel like I can keep up with my friends with it. And it's amazing the connections I am making through it from new local friends to insurance brokers to 'internet celebrity folks' that i wouldn't have been able to get a hold of otherwise. Crazy times we're living in.

Stop creating blogs, sir!

That's awesome you're going to India! Can't wait to see the pics. Jordan and I may go there with Jeff on his next trip. I can only offer a little advise (okay a top 10) from Jeff's experiences there and mine in Thailand:

1. You will see EXTREME POVERTY (six people living under a blue tarp). As tempting as it may be to give the kids money... don't. They're trained from birth to follow the 'rich white man' and beg, tap car windows, etc.

2. Get a driver and roll up the windows, Jeff's taken pictures of cows, goats, and elephants in the road at the same time as the 6 cars and 4 mopeds all lined up in 3 lane road with accidents happening left and right. Which brings me to my next point...

3. Should you hit a cow get out of the car and seek shelter as fast as you can. Speaking of cows...

4. Burger King isn't what you think it is.

5. One from Craig Bauwens- No matter how high up in the hotel/apt you are staying, keep the windows closed. The monkeys will come in take your stuff and leave 'presents'.

6. Bottle water only -no ice- for everything including brushing your teeth.

7. Bring enough clothes so you don't have to do laundry. They tend to not get all the soap out. They have servents for everything and they get paid around $20 a month. In fact in middle class it's common to have a driver, cook, nanny, and maid.

8. In addition to the malaria and antibotic meds, make sure you include Imodium Xtra Strenght (scrap the Pepto...not strong enough) and lots of heartburn med like Pepcid AC. Your body can only handle so much Indian food with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Jeff also does some sleep meds to force his body to sleep with the time change...They don't work on me b/c I'm usu too excited. Take your other meds such as headache, etc as they may not carry what you need and they're not regulated. It will be hot and muggy but wear try to wear long sleeves if you are out and about day/ night. Take a small roll -they make travel size- of toilet paper. Some airports and hotels may not have any. Bring some jerky, crackers and other snacks that remind you of home.

9. If you tak a rickshaw/took took/taxi, negoiate price first.

10. You can bargain on anything and you should as you are seen as the 'rich white man'. Silk rugs, Cashmere (their version of cotton), Jewlrey, Clothes is verrry affordable. In fact, for xmas a couple yrs ago we handed out 15 cashmere scarfs for $20 bucks a pop! Do some research on rugs/gemstones before you go so you don't get taken.

Have fun!
